Rocket Math
Rocket Math is math fact practice personalized to fit the individual writing speeds of students. It its a daily FAVORITE of my students and myself!!
Students will bring home their Rocket Math quiz that they took THAT DAY and from there you have some options for how to practice. Rocket Math homework DOES NOT need to be returned to class and turned in. If a student passes his or her Rocket Math level that day, they will not bring home their quiz sheet and will not have Rocket Math homework that day. Here are your options for practicing at home. Choose whatever works best for you and your student, the main thing is to BE practicing in some way. Homework Practice Option 1: Time student for 1 minute as they say (out loud) each math fact around the outside of the box, starting in the upper right corner of the quiz. Please correct any mistakes! *This is exactly what students do during partner practice in class* Option 2: Ask student to go around the outside of the box one time and say (out loud) each math fact, starting in the upper right corner of the quiz. Time them to see how quickly they can do it and please correct any mistakes! Option 3: Time student for 1 minute as they complete as many of the remaining math facts as they can. *This is exactly what students do for the timed test in class* Option 4: Ask student to complete the remaining facts on the inside of the box on their quiz sheet from the day. You have the option to time them to see how fast they can get it done, or simply to have them complete it no matter how long it takes. |
